From the looks of things Crafted items are superior to the rare ones you find out in the field. Sometimes even better than the rares you find for a few levels above. I'm not sure how long this will last. If you want to make a profit off of your craft make sure to look at the broker so you know what to craft and what to avoid crafting. Work orders will build your skill level up so you dont have to waste precious time gathering mats to create an item that sells for nothing, and doesn't even work for you, just to get a skill point.
